The Summer heat wave is here. With expected temperatures to range from 40-43 degrees centigrade, the danger warning is urgent- Stay hydrated. Seek protection from the scorching sun. Always have an umbrella on hand. Drink 2-3 liters of water daily. If you drink 12-15 glasses of water, even better. Dehydration causes headaches, palpitations, loss of energy and strokes. Do not take this advise lightly.

Here’s my truth. I don’t believe in dieting. Simply put, the word ‘diet’ connotes deprivation. And nobody should ever be miserable on any diet plan. Besides, it will never be effective.
The best way to keep trim is to be wise in your food choices. And the simple key is moderation. Just don’t be driven to excess in anything.
Opt for organic and fresh. Eat more greens. Cut back on the carbohydrates and sugar. You can have 5-7 small meals daily. This is healthier for you because it guarantees a more steady metabolism.

Sun Gazing

Would you believe it if I told you that sun-gazing or sun-eating has been around for 2,000 years? It is a yogic Indian practice that claims health benefits. The conditions are: You must be barefoot on the grass or ground, gaze directly at the sun,  the time you gaze is sunrise or sunset, gazing time is only 10 seconds.
Claimed health benefits include: improved vision and sleep, clearer mind, increased vitality and improved mood among others.
Sunning is looking at the sun with  eyes closed. It is deemed just as beneficial as gazing with eyes open. Fair warning- staring directly at the noonday sun may damage your eyes due to exposure to ultra-violet radiation.
For starters, get under a shady old tree and look up at the sky , not the sun. It’s a good start.

Look for the beverages using fresh fruit, not the processed kind. This way, you can watch your calories. Fresh fruit has natural sugar . When consumed, it is kinder to the body by not raising your blood sugar as quickly as processed table sugar would. PS.
